The Mikuni TM33-8012  is supplied with the following factory jetting installed:

Pilot jet 37.5 (VM28/486),  Needle 5FP96,  Needle Jet P-8 (640 Series),  Main Jet 127.5 (N100.604),  Air Jet 0.7

Mikuni TM33-8012 Dimension A= 40mm, B= 93mm, C= 160mm, D= 50mm. The prominently protruding cable bracket is not included in these dimensions but can be easily cut down and or modified for a custom fit job.

Going fast has never been so easy.  These carburetors can be adapted to a number of different applications from single to multi-cylinder engines, giving better throttle response, improved acceleration, increased horsepower and torque.  In a number of instances Dyno tests have shown improvements of up to 25%  when fitted to same size CV carburettored engines.

This Mikuni TM33 is produced as a stock carb for performance DR350 models. It has since become a popular carburettor to fit to Kawasaki KLX 250 and 300’s, Yamaha TTR250, Suzuki DRZ 250, Junior Dragsters and basically any 250 to 350cc 4-stroke single or 500 to 750cc Twin that they will physically fit to.

The TM33 is also a very quick and easy replacement for many 350cc through 500cc Quads with side rotor activated throttle mechanisms.
If you have the room this carb will be your easiest solution usually only requiring a cable mod which all depends on how much space you have above the carb. We’ve had some Suzuki’s owners modify and rotate forward the cable bracket a little, some quads it’s just never going to fit and most Yamaha are a breeze.
You will have to be careful though when first riding as this comes with a lot more power

Compare your existing carbs dimensions against the A, B and D  above for direct replacement compatibility and study the pictures taken on our graph board (the black lines are at 10mm spacings with 1mm increments in between), to determine available space if fitting in an unpublicized application. Extra consideration must be given to the prominently protruding cable bracket can be easily cut down and or modified for a custom fit job.

With an unmatched air-cleaner spigot diameter or carb length and if still wanting to use the OEM air box rather than a Pod, check out our “Air-cleaner adapter listing”. If you can’t find a match, the manufacturing of special sleeves or extensions for some applications may be necessary. This is easily done by your local machine shop or any muffler shop with a pipe expander and the results far surpass the inconvenience.

If your OEM cables don’t match and if not available in our “Throttle and Cable assembly list”, you may well also need to have yours modified or new ones made for your application.

(The picture with the cables for applications other than DR350  shows the required length of inner cable protrusion and securing fitting at the carb end on basically a maximum length adjustment. The back board is divided into 1 and 10mm increments)

    Great little carby, easy to tune. running it on my wife Vstar 650 single carb conversion. 1 1/4 on the idle mixture with a 130 mains. Thanks to the great advice from Tom this little bike has now been transformed into a great little bike. Thanks again, John.

    KLX250 – Cannot recommend this carby enough, it completely transfered my bike into something enjoyable. See Dyno video 30hp at the back tyre.
